
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan sustained injuries during an attempted robbery at his Mumbai residence late Wednesday night. According to police reports, an unknown individual entered the premises and got into an argument with the actor’s maid. When Saif intervened to de-escalate the situation, the intruder turned aggressive, resulting in a physical altercation during which the actor was injured.
In a statement issued by Saif Ali Khan’s team, they confirmed:
“There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to remain patient as this is an ongoing police matter. Further updates will be shared in due course.”
The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital around 3:30 am, where he was admitted with six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the wounds was dangerously close to his spine. Niraj Uttamani, CEO of Lilavati Hospital, said:
“Saif Ali Khan was brought to Lilavati in the early hours with six injuries. While most injuries are minor, one near the spine required immediate attention. Neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange, cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, and anesthetist Dr. Nisha Gandhi are leading the surgery. The extent of the damage will only be determined post-surgery.”
The Mumbai Police have launched a full investigation into the matter. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam stated:
“The actor sustained injuries during a scuffle with the intruder. He is receiving treatment, and the investigation is ongoing.”
On the professional front, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in the critically acclaimed Devara: Part 1, released in September 2024, alongside Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. The actor is set to appear next in the highly anticipated heist thriller Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter, directed by Robbie Grewal.
