Barrierless Parking at Mall of the Emirates Goes Live Today

Dubai, UAE – February 3, 2025 – Mall of the Emirates (MOE) has officially launched its new barrierless and ticketless parking system, offering a seamless and hassle-free experience for motorists. This initiative follows the recent successful implementation at Deira City Centre and is part of a five-year contract between Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) and Parkin PJSC, Dubai’s largest paid parking operator.

The new parking system eliminates the need for physical barriers, allowing vehicles to enter and exit without stopping. Advanced license plate recognition technology automatically captures entry and exit times, calculates parking fees, and notifies motorists via SMS. This upgrade aims to reduce congestion, enhance convenience, and provide a smoother parking experience for visitors. Despite the technological enhancement, parking fees remain unchanged, ensuring that customers continue to enjoy the same pricing structure as before.

MOE visitors will receive four hours of free parking on weekdays, with charges applicable beyond that timeframe. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday), parking remains free. If a motorist exceeds the free duration, they will receive an SMS with a payment link, and the amount must be settled within three days to avoid a Dh150 fine. Additionally, passing through MOE’s parking facility without visiting the mall now incurs a Dh3 charge, a measure aimed at discouraging motorists from using the parking area as a shortcut to Sheikh Zayed Road.

Parking fees are structured progressively, with charges starting at Dh20 for 4-5 hours and increasing to Dh150 for stays exceeding 8 hours. Overnight parking is prohibited, and violators will be fined Dh200 per day. However, visitors who make purchases worth Dh150 or more can validate their receipts at the mall’s customer service desk to enjoy free parking for the entire day. Those visiting VOX Cinemas or Ski Dubai will receive an additional two hours of free parking when they validate their movie or attraction tickets.

Motorists do not need to pre-register to use the new system. Any vehicle registered in the UAE will automatically be detected, and notifications will be sent to the phone number linked to the car’s registration. For those driving rental or borrowed vehicles, any parking fees or fines will be charged to the rental company or registered owner. Payment options are flexible and include debit/credit cards, Apple Pay, and the Parkin app, making the process convenient and efficient.

MAF has also implemented strict privacy and data security measures to protect motorists’ information. License plate data is securely stored, and personal details will not be shared with third parties. Vehicle information remains in the system as long as the car is registered with the government, but transaction records are only retained for three years.

For inquiries or assistance, visitors can contact 800-Park (7275) or visit the MOE customer service desk.
