Dubai Police Launches Doorstep Delivery for Lost-and-Found Items

Dubai Police has introduced a new doorstep delivery service that allows residents to receive their recovered lost belongings directly at their homes or workplaces. The initiative is part of Dubai’s wider effort to make government and public services more convenient, technology-driven and focused on customer satisfaction.

Under the new service, people who lose important personal belongings and later have them recovered through Dubai Police’s lost-and-found system can potentially receive those items without needing to make an additional trip to a police station. Instead, the recovered property can be delivered to the person’s preferred location within the UAE.

The move is especially useful for residents and visitors who may lose valuable items such as mobile phones, wallets, identification documents, bags, electronic devices or other personal belongings while travelling around Dubai. Dubai is a highly international city, with millions of residents and tourists moving through airports, hotels, malls, public transport networks and tourist attractions every year. As a result, lost-and-found services are an important part of daily city life.

The new initiative reflects Dubai Police’s broader push towards smart policing and customer-friendly services. Instead of requiring residents to physically visit government offices for every process, authorities are increasingly using digital systems and delivery networks to make services faster and more convenient.

For tourists, the service could also be particularly helpful. A visitor who loses an item during a trip may find it difficult to return to the same police station or location to collect it. A delivery-based system could make the process much easier, depending on the applicable procedures and eligibility requirements.

The initiative also highlights Dubai’s continued focus on combining technology with public services. The city has increasingly invested in digital platforms, smart applications and automated services designed to reduce paperwork and save time for residents.

For people living in Dubai, the message is simple: if you lose something and it is recovered by the authorities, you may no longer always need to travel to collect it. Dubai Police is moving towards a more convenient model in which recovered belongings can be brought directly to residents.

The new service is another example of how Dubai is attempting to make everyday government services more efficient and customer-focused.
