UAE on High Alert After Multiple Drone Attacks Near Critical Sites
The United Arab Emirates has been placed on heightened security alert after authorities confirmed that several hostile drones were intercepted over the country during the past 48 hours. The incidents have raised concerns across the Gulf region, especially after one drone reportedly exploded near the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, one of the UAE’s most important strategic facilities.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, air defence systems successfully intercepted and destroyed at least six drones that entered the country’s airspace. Officials stated that the drones appeared to target civilian and strategic infrastructure areas. Preliminary investigations suggest that some of the drones may have originated from Iraq, although authorities are continuing their investigations to determine the exact source and responsible groups.
